Tour of Historic East Main Street

West Newton's historic downtown character and charm is apparent in these architectural drawings of our downtown buildings.

The Cornerstone Building

The Cornerstone Building is one of West Newton's architectural gems and has undergone a recent rehabilitated with six residential units and two commercial.

The Moose Building

The Moose Building is one of the largest buildings in the downtown on the corner of Main and S. Water Streets.

G.C. Murphy Building

This grouping of three separate facades once housed the familiar retailer and is currently under renovation.

The Times-Sun Building

This facade is home to the Times-Sun Office -- the regional weekly newspaper (part of the Tribune Group.)

Aguilar and Austin Buildings

These facades are next to the CSX railroad tracks.

PNC Bank

PNC Bank, one of two banks in West Newton, is located on East Main Street in this ornate facade

Burtner's Rock and Gem

This is the place to go for all of your fine jewelry needs. They specialize in fine gifts and jewelry, rocks and gems.

Dodson's Funeral Home

This beautiful Second Empire home houses one of the town's funeral homes.

State Farm Insurance
& Fill Up Fuel Buildings

Dee Taylor and his State Farm insurance building (left) are well known in the area. The building to the right is the only cast iron facade in West Newton.
