of National City Bank.
The Main Street Craft
Show will be held in the W.N. Community Center and
includes area vendors with holiday crafts, gifts, and foods. If
you wish to
reserve a table for $5 each, contact our office at (724) 872-0100.
Two Pittsburgh Penguin
Tickets will be raffled for $1 for 1 ticket and $3
for
5 tickets. A drawing will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Froggy booth
and will
be awarded that night. The tickets are for the 7:30 p.m., Saturday,
December
21 Penns Game against the Calgary Flames at the Mellon Arena. The
seats are
located at B Level-East, Section B6, Row C and are valued at $90
each.
Downtown businesses
will be open for extended hours that night including
AJ's Pizza, Ace Hardware, Burtner's Rocks & Gems, Celapino's
Convenience
Store, Hometown Crafts, Jaytec's Gas Station, Korber's Bicycle Shop,
National City Bank, Randall's Barbeque, Rite Aid, Second Street
Cafe, Water
Street Inn, and West Newton Pizza House for your holiday shopping,
food, and
refreshments.
Several new businesses
will hold grand openings including Maria's
Alterations/Dry Cleaning, Walthour's Antique Cars/Accessories, and
Lindauer's Nutrition Center.
Horsin Round Carriage Service will offerer
Horse Drawn Carriage Rides.
Take a ride in this "Cinderella like"
carriage for $2.50 per adult and $1 per child.
Each downtown ride lasts 10 minutes and seats up to four.
Carolers
from area church choirs will be singing yuletide favorites along
Main and Second Streets.
Santa
and his elf will be on hand to give candy canes to the kiddies and
to
accept Christmas lists at South Second Street!
A First United Methodist
Church Nativity Show will feature creche displays
from local residents and will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. at the
Social
Hall on North Second Street.
The West Newton Community
Singers will hold it's annual Christmas Concert
"Holiday Magic" at the First Presbyterian Church on East
Main Street
starting at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $7 each.
A free holiday ornament
will be given to the first 250 customers to purchase
$5 or more from participating downtown businesses.
Free parking
will be available at two Municipal Parking lots on North and
South Water Streets, Rite Aid on West Main Street, the CSX lot on
Vine
Street, and the Presbyterian Church lot on South Third Street as
well as the
free parking meter spaces on Main, Second, and Third Streets.
Downtown will be lit up with luminaria
and decorations.
