Bridge Railing, "History Ribbon" and Gateway Sign

This component will enhance the Main Street Bridge to better connect trail users to the downtown commercial shopping district by providing pedestrians and bicyclists a friendlier, more inviting experience across the bridge by improving the ramps at each end of the bridge along with new curbing.

A historically accurate railing will replace the existing railing that is in need of repair and was placed on the bridge many years after the bridge's construction.

A "History Ribbon" to be intertwined in the bridge as a long, linear interpretative sign to serve as an important device to help attract trail users over the bridge and into the downtown shopping area. The History Ribbon will begin as a paving pattern and evolve into a gateway and finally a handrail.
